Micha de Bie
Muralist / Street Art artist
G hampshire making off

It sounds like a cliché that it was already very clear at an early age that Micha would continue in the field of design and art. From a young age, he was always drawing in primary and secondary school. He then pursued an education at the graphic lyceum to later work in the graphic sector. The hobby of graffiti laid a solid foundation for his later life and also his work. During his work at various well-known design agencies, he simultaneously attended a four-year evening course at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam. After this education, he worked both as an employee at various design agencies and as a freelance designer. In his time alongside his work as a designer, he was also already creating murals. Over the years, creating murals has taken precedence over graphic work. Today, he is a full-time muralist (street art artist) and occasionally still designs some graphic work.

Geometry, mathematical approach, contrasts of refined and solid, sleek typography (where readability is secondary), patterns, and the combination of computer technology and traditional craftsmanship are often the ingredients of his designs. In his work, he seeks a balance between the self-imposed limited amount of often geometric basic shapes he is allowed to use. These, in turn, may only be used within a certain grid and/or frame. Searching for possibilities within the limitations to create an aesthetic image.
